The last foal bred jointly by my mother, Joan Rose, and myself, Manistique distinguished himself first as a three year old when he won his classes at the Mid-A and Granite State shows on his way to the World Champion Three Year Old English Pleasure title. As a four year old, he continued to win both in Ladies and Open English pleasure, and then progressed into a powerful open horse. His World Champion Open English Pleasure title came in 2007, after a banner season that included wins at the Vermont Spring Classic in hand and Connecticut under saddle. He is now a winning Amateur Pleasure Driving horse for his new owner, who chalked up championships in 2008 at New York and Vermont. Manistique will always be a very special horse in my heart!
